The Login Form shortcode ([academy_login_form]) renders a customizable login form on the frontend of your site, so students and instructors can sign in without visiting the default wp-login.php screen. Every visible label and the post-login/logout redirect behavior can be customized through shortcode attributes.
How to access
1.Go to Pages > Add New (or edit an existing page).
2.Add a Shortcode or Paragraph block and type
[academy_login_form].3.Click Publish and view the page on the frontend as a logged-out visitor.
Shortcode attributes
form_title — heading text shown above the form. Defaults to “Log In into your Account”.
username_label — label text for the username/email field. Defaults to “Username or Email Address”.
password_label — label text for the password field. Defaults to “Password”.
remember_label — label text for the “remember me” checkbox. Defaults to “Remember me”.
login_button_label — text on the submit button. Defaults to “Log In”.
reset_password_label — link text for the password-reset link. Defaults to “Reset password”.
show_logged_in_message —
true (default) or false. When true and the viewer is already logged in, the shortcode shows a “you are logged in” message with a logout link instead of the form; when false, nothing is rendered for already-logged-in visitors.student_register_url — URL for the “Register Now” link shown under the form. Empty by default (the template falls back to Academy’s own student registration URL when this is left blank).
login_redirect_url — URL to send the user to after a successful login. Defaults to the current page’s permalink.
logout_redirect_url — URL to send the user to after clicking the logout link (shown when already logged in). Defaults to the site’s home URL.
username_placeholder and password_placeholder are also accepted (they set the input placeholder text, separate from the visible *_label attributes) but are not commonly overridden since the default placeholders already mirror the labels.
Notes
If the viewer is already logged in and
show_logged_in_message="false", the shortcode renders nothing — use this if you want the login block to disappear entirely for signed-in users rather than show a message.The “Register Now” link automatically appends a
redirect_to query parameter pointing back to the current page, so a new student lands back on this page after registering.
