Academy’s Customize screen is where you set how your courses look — brand colors, the course catalog, the single course page, the learn page, and the frontend dashboard — all from one place, with a live preview beside your changes. It’s separate from the individual course/lesson content: this screen controls layout, colors, and shape, not what’s inside a course.
How to access
Nothing changes on your site until you press Save — the live preview is a safe way to try things out first.
Colors & Style
Sets the brand colors (primary, secondary, text, gray, border, surface) used everywhere Academy appears — course pages, the learn page, and the dashboard — for both light and dark mode, plus card/button corner radius and card title size.
Course Catalog and Course Page
Course Catalog controls what each course card shows (and in what order), image shape, columns per row on desktop/tablet/mobile, and where the filters sidebar sits. Course Page controls which sections appear on a single course page (in your own order) and where the enroll box sits.
Both tabs offer Start from a preset (apply a whole ready-made look in one click) or Page layouts (fine-tune the elements yourself). For anything the settings don’t cover, use Edit with blocks to open the card or the whole page in the block editor.
If your course pages still use the classic (non-block) templates, the catalog and course page layout settings here won’t apply until you switch to the block templates — an on-screen notice links straight to that switch, and you can always switch back.
Learn Page
Controls the page a student takes a course on: which rendering engine it uses, curriculum position and width, the top bar’s items, and its colors. See Learn Page PHP Rendering for a full walkthrough of the engine choice.
Dashboard
Controls the layout, menu names and order, home page, dark mode, and colors of the frontend dashboard students and instructors see after logging in.
The native WordPress Customizer
Academy also adds an Academy LMS panel to the standard WordPress Customizer (Appearance > Customize), with sections for Course Archive, Course Single, Booking Archive, Booking Single, Learn Page, and Frontend Dashboard.
The Learn Page and Frontend Dashboard sections here hold the same per-element style controls (background, border, text, and icon colors for the top bar, sidebar, topics, Q&A form, and more) as the newer Customize screen — use whichever entry point is convenient, since they read and write the same settings.
On classic (non-block) themes, the Course Archive and Course Single sections in the native Customizer are the primary place to style the catalog and single course page; on block themes, those settings move into the Customize screen’s Course Catalog and Course Page tabs instead.
