StoreEngine is Academy LMS’s own built-in eCommerce engine. It needs no separate plugin dependency beyond installing StoreEngine itself, and its course integration turns on automatically once StoreEngine is active, with no add-on to enable separately.
Note: StoreEngine is a free plugin, marked as the Recommended eCommerce engine in Academy Settings.
Go to Academy LMS → Settings → Payments → eCommerce Engine. Turn on the eCommerce engine switch, then select StoreEngine (it carries a “Recommended” badge), and click Save.
Step 2: Price a course
Open a course and go to its Overview step. In the Course Type panel on the right, a course starts as Free. To sell it:
The course’s price badge switches from FREE once a price is saved, and the course becomes purchasable through StoreEngine’s checkout.
Step 3: Configure payment methods
Payment setup happens inside StoreEngine’s own settings, not Academy’s. Go to StoreEngine → Settings → Payments & Tax → Payment method. Turn on the payment methods you want to accept: Direct bank transfer, or Check payments are built in, and the Payment Gateway Add-ons section lists one-click integrations for PayPal, Stripe, Paddle and Razorpay.
Selling access instead of a single course
Academy’s course editor does not have a separate “Membership” course type for StoreEngine. To sell ongoing access instead of a one-off purchase, use the Subscription price type from Step 2 for recurring billing on a single course, or set up an Access Group from StoreEngine’s own dashboard to bundle access to several courses behind one purchase.
