Notes

While working through a lesson, students often want to jot down a reminder, a key takeaway, or a question to revisit later without leaving the course player. Academy’s Notes feature lets a student take timestamped, per-lesson notes directly from the lesson page, and review them per-lesson or across the whole course at any time.

This is a student-facing, frontend feature — it lives inside the course learning page (the lesson player), not in wp-admin.

Notes is an addon, and ships inactive by default — the Take Note button and Notes tab won’t appear on the lesson page until it’s turned on.

How to access

1.As an admin, go to **Academy LMS > Addons** and switch on the **Notes** card (grouped under course features). No setup is required beyond enabling it.
 Add ons Notes
1.As an enrolled student, open any course from the frontend and start a lesson (your Dashboard > Courses > [a course] > Continue Learning, or go straight to a lesson URL such as /course/your-course/?source=curriculums#/lesson/1).
2.On the lesson page, click Take Note in the top-right toolbar.
Course content
1.A My Notes panel slides in from the right, with a This lesson / All course toggle and a Write a note… box.
2.Type your note and click Add note.

1.The note is saved instantly and appears in the list below the composer, timestamped and tied to the current lesson.

Reviewing notes

Under the video/content area of the lesson, click the Notes tab (next to Overview) to see the same per-lesson notes inline, without opening the side panel.
Inside the My Notes panel,

switch This lesson to All course to see every note taken anywhere in the current course, not just the lesson you’re on.

This lesson / All course — toggle that scopes the notes list to just the lesson you’re viewing, or to every note taken across the course.
Write a note… — the note composer textbox; supports plain text.
Add note — saves the note against the current lesson and student account; stays disabled until there’s text in the composer.

A student can also select any text inside the lesson content to trigger a quick “Add note” prompt near the selection, which pre-fills the note with the quoted passage — useful for capturing a specific sentence from the lesson text.

Notes and instructors

Notes are private to the student who wrote them — instructors and other students cannot see a given student’s notes. They’re meant purely as a personal study aid tied to the student’s own progress through the course.
