Academy LMS offers the course excerpt feature to showcase the key benefits and highlights of every course. This helps students quickly understand what they will gain, keeps them engaged, and sparks their interest to explore and learn more. By providing a clear overview of each course, students can make informed choices and stay motivated throughout their learning journey.
How to activate the Course Excerpt setting and how it works
First, navigate to the “Academy LMS settings, then go to Pages → Courses Page”. Scroll down a little, and you’ll find the “Course Excerpt” setting. After activating this setting, don’t forget to save your changes by clicking the “Save” button in the top-right corner.
After activating the “Course Excerpt” setting, navigate to the Courses page under the Academy LMS menu. You can use the course excerpt for both existing courses and new courses in the same way. To create a new course, click the “Add New Course” button in the top-right corner of the Courses page.
After clicking the “Edit” button on an existing course or the “Add New Course” button, you will be redirected to the Course Editor page. On this page, you’ll find the “Excerpt” option under the “Course Taxonomy” section.
Please note: the Course Excerpt option supports a maximum of 100 characters.
User Example
After adding the excerpt text relevant to your course content, click the “Update” button located in the top-right corner of the course editor. Once updated, the excerpt text will appear on the Courses page in Academy LMS, giving students a clear overview of your course.
