How to create lesson?

If you have failed to create lessons with the Academy LMS, then this documentation is for you. This documentation will help you to create lessons in Academy LMS. This is super easy.

Lessons are a great way to get started on your course material. You can include text, images, video, audio, PDFs, and practically any other type of embeddable content.

This section will explain all the different things you can do with Academy LMS lessons—free sample lessons, timers, additional materials, assignments, and more.

To create lessons with Academy LMS, follow the instructions below.

  • Step 1. Open your WordPress dashboard and click on Academy LMS, then click on All Courses
  • Step 2. Now select any of your courses that you want to create lessons or create a new course to click add new course button.

  • Step 3. After selecting the course, scroll down a bit. You will find the Course Builder option.

  •  Step 4. From here, click the “Add New Curriculum” button, and a window will appear. This window will require you to fill in the Curriculum Name and Curriculum Summary.

After providing the topic name and summary, click the Add Curriculum Button. All course builder options will be available now. You can Add Content and Add Sub-Curriculum from here.

  • Click the Add Content option to explore the available course builder options. You can Add Lessons, Quizzes, New assignments, Meetings, and Tutor bookings to your course. You can also build from any existing course materials on your website.

  •  Step 5. Now, click on the Add New Lesson button to add lessons for the course. Type your Lesson Title, provide Content, and add a featured Image for your lesson.

Now scroll down a little bit and complete all the settings available for the lesson. 

  •  Step 6. Scroll down a bit to add more information to your lesson. You can make the lesson available for registered and non-registered. Simply put a tick mark on the Preview Lesson option. Keep it unmarked if you want the lessons only available for the registered users.
  • Then select the Video Source for your lessons. You can select your lesson video from multiple sources, such as Vimeo, External URL, Embedded, and HTML 5 (mp4). Then place the video URL in the black space, and set the Video Playback time for your lessons. You can also upload any file using the Upload Attachment option.
  •  Step 7. Click the Add Lesson button to finalize your lesson creation process.  You can add your existing lessons for multiple curriculum. Simply click a course curriculum from course builder. Then click Add Add Content

Select build from existing and select existing lessons that you’ve created previously. Simply tick mark the content that are available or not marked yet.

Let’s get a preview of the lessons that you’ve created. Scroll up and click on Update to save the changes you’ve made. Now click the Permalink which will redirect you to that specific course page.

This is the overview of the course that you just created recently. Now click on Start Course. 

From this page, you can see the content of your lessons. As you can see, the video link provided in a lesson is shown here with the texts that were provided. You can also share your course by clicking the share button and sharing the link.

  • Step 9. You can directly access lessons by navigating to Academy LMS > Lessons. You can create new lessons without creating any courses from this section. To create new lessons, simply click on the Add New Lesson button and proceed with the same process that we’ve mentioned earlier.
