The Academy LMS Prerequisites add-on is a valuable tool that ensures students progress in their learning journey by outlining the courses they must complete before registering for the next course. This helps build knowledge and skills in a structured manner.

For example, let’s say there are two courses: “Advanced Programming C” and “Java Script.” The Prerequisites add-on ensures that a student must finish the Introduction to PHP course before enrolling in the Advanced Python Coding course.

By using the Course Prerequisite feature, you can effectively target the right audience and prevent any gaps in knowledge. It also reduces the chances of students requesting refunds due to enrolling in courses that are too advanced for their current level.

Enable Academy LMS Course Prerequisites  #

To enable the Course Prerequisite feature, follow these steps:

1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.

2. Navigate to “Academy LMS” and click on it.

3. Look for the “Add-ons” section and click on it.

4. In the list of add-ons, find the “Prerequisites” add-on and click on the toggle switch to enable it.

Course Prerequisites Adding  #

Once the add-on is enabled, you can start setting up course prerequisites for your courses in the Academy LMS. You may make a new course or visit any period in edit mode by clicking on it here. 

You’ll see a new field named Course Requirements under the Course type section.

The menu will appear when you click on this, so choose the necessary course prerequisites from this list. Moreover, keep in mind that you can add as many required courses as you like. You can select Course and Category for the Prerequisite Type.

After adding your course, scroll up and click on Update. Then click on the course Permalink, and your course prerequisites will be added to the course. 

Students will be able to view this on the Course Details Page, as seen in the above image.
